The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2

Nintendo is at E3 2019, although it doesn’t hold press conferences anymore. Instead, is hosts a Nintendo Direct live stream. It’s jam-packed with games.

The big Nintendo E3 news is the fact that The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2 is coming to Nintendo Switch and it’s a direct sequel to the console’s launch game. No release date was announced, but we did get an 82-second trailer featuring Link and Zelda traversing a dark dungeon.

We also got to see more of Luigi’s Mansion 3, which was announced at E3 last year, and this year’s update on the game’s progress shows off  a green gooey Luigi doppelganger. He can squeeze through steel gates and cross over normally deadly spikes. It’s coming out in 2019, though Nintendo didn’t give us a specific date at E3.

We also got a first look at another Zelda game: The Legend of Zelda: Links Awakening, which does have a firm release date: September 20, 2019. It’s around the corner. One Nintendo game not coming as quickly as fans had hoped is the next Animal Crossing game. Animal Crossing: New Horizons was delayed to March 20, 2020.

The Nintendo Direct at E3 actually began with Super Smash Bros. Ultimate DLC. It’s getting a Dragon Quest 11 cross-over and, later in the E3 video, we got news of a Banjo Kazooie crossover.

WHEN IS E3 2019?

E3 stands for the Electronic Entertainment Expo, and while that hasn’t changed from year to year, the press conference schedule has gotten shuffled. So we’ll explain it quickly.

The official E3 2019 dates are Tuesday, June 11 to Thursday, June 13. However, that’s just for the portion of the show held inside the Los Angeles Convention Center. You know, the massive show floor where game demos happen.

E3 press conferences happen in the proceeding days, and this year it started with EA Play on Saturday, June 8 at the Hollywood Palladium. EA’s full day event offered deep dive trailers into EA’s biggest titles.

Sunday belonged to Microsoft and Bethesda, while Monday is being reserved for the PC Gaming Show, Square Enix and Ubisoft E3 press conferences. Nintendo has its video presentation Tuesday, right before the E3 show floor opens.

EA E3 press conference time
It’s over, but we have the EA Play re-cap. It started on Saturday, June 8 at 9:15am PT for fans with tickets at the Hollywood Palladium.

What happened?
EA didn’t come with surprises, but dedicated about 30 minutes to each previously announced game, providing ample time for game walkthroughs, not just simple trailers and sizzle reels. We actually got to learn about new modes and gameplay mechanics. It was meaningful.

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order: gameplay, release date, trailers and news
Apex Legends Season 2: Battle Cry
Battlefield 5 Chapter 4: Defying the Odds – here’s everything new coming
FIFA 20: release date, news, Volta modes and everything else there is to know
Madden NFL 20 release date, trailers and gameplay changes
The Sims 4: Island Living expansion
Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order was the highlight from Respawn Entertainment looking a bit like Uncharted with a lightsaber and The Force powers (that’s not a bad thing). There was no Titanfall 3, from the developer, but we did see Apex Legends Season 2: Battle Cry get a start date of July 2.

EA Sports gave us deep looks into both FIFA 20 and Madden 20, while Battlefield 5 Chapter 4 and The Sims 4: Island Living expanded their respective (and very different) universes.

What wasn’t at EA’s E3 2019?
We didn’t get many surprises – BioWare’s Dragon Age 4 has been an E3 no-show, even though it did get a teaser trailer at last year’s The Game Awards. Likewise, we didn’t see anything from PopCap (famous for Plants vs Zombies) and Ghost Games, the new stakeholders of the Need for Speed franchise. And, like we mentioned, Titanfall 3 was a no show, which is no surprise – Respawn is working on two other big games already being shown at E3.

CALL OF DUTY: MODERN WARFARE: FIRST MULTIPLAYER SCREENSHOTS REVEALED – E3 2019

During E3 Coliseum 2019, the first in-game multiplayer screenshots were revealed for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare.

The first image shows a player in a full Gillie Suit, complete with a silenced sniper rifle. Infinity Ward’s new engine allows for dynamic cloth, so when the Gillie Suit moves, the rest of the suit will move realistically.

The character is also wearing a veil over his/her head, and as the character moves, so does every part of the clothing and suit.

The second image showed and teased the return of the Juggernaut suit and Special Ops to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare.

Infinity Ward art director Joel Emslie also discussed he asked for, early on, heavy metal music to start playing as you near a Juggernaut, as the soldier inside chose it as his music of choice on the battlefield.

Other details were revealed during the panel, including that while some character are returning from 2007’s Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, all the voice actors are new.

They also further discussed their new engine, that took over 5 years to create, which allows for such things as the caliber of a bullet determining how/if it can penetrate a wall and make it through.

While the first previews of the game discussed the smaller, more intense settings in Modern Warfare, they want fans to rest easy knowing that there are still larger scale sections of the campaign.

Speaking of the Campaign, you will play half of the story as Sgt. Kyle Garrick, a former British Army Officer who will work along returning character Cpt. Price, who will be a different character to the original but will honor what made him so memorable.

The second half will be centered around a CIA agent named Alex who embeds with local forces in the Middle East and is assigned to work with another Commander Farrah who is “a corollary of Cpt. Price.”

signs that a new age of CS:GO has begun

5 signs that a new age of CS:GO has begun

5 signs that a new age of CS:GO has begun
With the 2019 Counter-Strike season almost reaching the halfway mark, we have already witnessed massive changes taking place in the global circuit. From the fall of some big teams to the rise of the underdogs, entertaining events and some big upsets, the season has yet to dissapoint in terms of pure entertainment value. All of this has culminated into what we believe to be the onset of a new era in the competitive circuit.

Here are five signs that might point towards this.

1. ENCE – From Rags To Riches

The organization who has had a rough history, started out once again last year with an aim to put Finland out there on the competitive scene. Though the team did consistently well, the big break that propelled them up the ladder was their brilliant performance at IEM Katowice 2019.

While they were not the talk of the town stepping into the tournament, the dark horses became the centre of attention as they advanced through the stages.

ENCE came into the spotlight after surviving the Legends stage and made it into the top eight. But this was just the start as the Finns went on to face the top three teams in the world one after the other.

Every win, a celebration and an achievement equivalent in their fans’ eyes to claiming the major. The finals against Astralis was a bit of a buzz kill but the barrier had been breached and ENCE’s name cemented.

2. Liquid – Breaking Their Curse

After stringing over five second-place finishes in 2018 alone, the team which had been struggling for a victory in a premier CS event for years, finally struck gold at IEM Sydney 2019.

Liquid had built up a reputation to choke under pressure but they finally pulled through and broke the uber-famous, community applied tag of ‘The Liquid Curse’.

As Liquid defeated Fnatic to create their own rendition of ‘a walk to remember’, they lifted the coveted trophy in the land down under. To the few haters who believed this to be a one-time miracle, Team Liquid replied not by words but by standing victorious at the DreamHack Masters Dallas 2019, which also marked the possible end of the Astralis Era with Liquid claiming the number one spot on HLTV’s global rankings.

AMD Announces New CPU and GPU Products at Next Horizon Event

With E3 just kicking off, AMD has been involved in a flurry of recent announcements. Two weeks ago, AMD held the opening keynote for Computex 2019. On the CPU side of the house, AMD announced the third generation of Ryzen processors, the first to be using the “Zen 2” core. The new lineup included a new 12-core, 24-thread offering on the AM4 socket, meaning consumers now have another increase of cores on the mainstream AM4 socket. A July 7th release date was announced for those products.

With a new processor lineup usually comes a new line of motherboards. The X570 chipset will power new AM4 motherboards released alongside the third generation of Ryzen. Current owners of a motherboard utilizing the X370/X470 chipset will also see some love in the form of support for the new CPU lineup, even if they will not see an update to support PCIe 4.0.

On the Radeon graphics side of the house, AMD announced the new RDNA architecture and upcoming RX-5700 series graphics cards based on that new architecture. Last week came a rather unexpected announcement that Samsung will license AMD’s RDNA-based Radeon graphics technology for use in mobile segments, presumably as part of their Exynos SoC. It is extremely noteworthy given that AMD sold its previous mobile IP to Qualcomm in 2009. After the acquisition, Qualcomm then rebranded that technology as Adreno, an anagram of Radeon. Adreno is still in use in new Snapdragon SoCs.

AMD Processor Related Announcements

Today, as part of a livestream event announced at Computex, AMD has made even more announcements. On the CPU side of the house, Dr. Lisa Su announced the long-awaited 16-core,32-thread Ryzen R9-3950X. The R9-3950X uses the AM4 socket, a change from the first 2 generations being part of the high-end Ryzen Threadripper and X399 lineup.

With this new processor added to the Ryzen product line, AMD once again doubles the core and thread count available to mainstream consumers. Users will have to wait a short while to acquire this CPU as it will not be released until September. Separately, AMD has made a change in name by introducing Gamercache as a name for the increased total cache.

Also announced was a new generation of Ryzen-G processors. Since these APUs are a year behind the rest of the Ryzen lineup, the R3-3200G and R5-3400G will not use the “Zen 2” core. The two APUs pick up from where the previous generation stopped, making improvements in both CPU base and boost frequencies.

The R5-3400G receives a few more improvements that are not included on its sibling. AMD added Precision Boost Overdrive (PBO), a new TIM and improved graphics clock speeds. They have also changed the bundled cooler to the Wraith Spire for the R5-3400G, allowing to take better advantage of the improvements added specifically to that APU.

Both the R3-3200G and R5-3400G will be available on July 7th alongside the other Ryzen processors releasing that day.

Radeon RX 5700XT

AMD Radeon Graphics Related Announcements

On the graphics side of the house, the talk was about details on RDNA and the upcoming RX-5700 series, named so in celebration of AMD’s 50th anniversary. The initial release of RDNA-based graphics technology will include an RX-5700 and RX-5700XT graphics card with 8GB of GDDR6 memory. These GPUs are designed to compete against the NVIDIA Geforce RTX 2060 and 2070, respectively. In regards to cooling, the reference models of the RX-5700 series will use a blower design, leaving other cooling designs to the different manufacturers that offer Radeon graphics cards.

Just as AMD has added new names and terms on the CPU side, the RX-5700 series also adds some names and terminology. AMD has now added a third “Game Clock” that sits between the base and boost clocks. The new level essentially establishes a sustainable clock speed under load, allowing the boost mode to become a variable target speed. This behaves in a similar fashion to Precision Boost Overdrive, meaning that the graphics card automatically adjusts the clock speed without overheating.

There are improvements in graphics technology beyond RDNA and the RX-5700 series. Radeon Display Engine, which supports both the HDMI 2.0b and DP 1.4 HDR standards. The new DisplayPort support includes Display Stream Compression (DSC), allowing displays of 4K/240Hz, 4K HDR/120Hz and 8K HDR/60Hz though a single cable.

Radeon Media Engine improves hardware-based encoding and decoding on H.264, H.265, and VP9 standards. These improvements will have a wide reach, from gamers who also stream (Twitch/OBS) and into higher-end production using applications like DaVinci Resolve. Finally, the XT-5700 series will also receive a new feature called Radeon Image Sharpening.

Along with new graphics hardware comes software improvements. On July 7th, the Adrenalin software package will release a new update – one that goes beyond just supporting the XT-5700 series. Owners of GCN based graphics cards will be able to use features such as Radeon ReLive and Link – which will be offered for both Android TV and Apple TV. Custom settings will have a new feature to save those settings, allowing for easy reconfiguration in situations such as a “clean uninstall” or format and re-installation of Windows and applications. New technologies include an “anti-lag” feature and a new GPUOpen developer toolkit named FidelityFX. AMD is working with many game developers in implementing these tools, some which joined AMD on stage at the Next Horizon event.

Finally, AMD has identified an error in the RX-5700 series renderings. The renders show an 8+8 power connection, but the actual models (as photographed above) only require an 8+6 pin connection.

We will be providing more details on much of these announcements in upcoming articles.

These Are The Best Battle Royale Games One Can Play On Mobile Right Now

1) Crossfire Legends

If you like PUBG Mobile, then you’ll most likely enjoy Crossfire Legends too. It’s a fantastic game and it’s developed by Tencent, the guys who made PUBG Mobile. Just like PUBG Mobile, Crossfire Legends’ BR mode also lets you dive into a solo, duo or a squad game.

Crossfire Legends got great weapons and amazing visuals, so it’s definitely worth checking out. In addition to the BR mode, this particular game also offers a few different modes such as Team Deathmatch, Mutant mode, and more

2) Call Of Duty: Mobile

This one’s a fairly new game. Heck, it’s not even available for all users, but it’s still worth adding to the list. Call of Duty: Mobile, though it’s only available for select registered users, has gained a lot of traction. It’s got a Battle Royale mode, Team Deathmatch, etc.

Call of Duty: Mobile differentiates itself as a tactical shooter, making it one of the very titles out there offering a tactical shooting experience. We’ve already put up a detailed write up explaining about the key differences from PUBG Mobile and you can check it out right here. In case you haven’t tried the game yet, here’s how you sideload the game and play it right now.

3) Fortnite

Fortnite is in-part responsible for creating the battle royale hype, so we had to add this to the mix. Unlike PUBG Mobile, this one’s a super stable game and a lot of fun to play. Although Fortnite is a battle royale title, the gameplay is slightly different.

The only downside to the game is that it’s not available on the Google Play Store, so you’ll have to get it from the Epic Launcher. It’s available directly from the App Store though.

4) PUBG Mobile

Well, lastly we have PUBG Mobile. Yes, the game that popularised the Battle Royale genre. The game lets you jump off to an island with 99 other players and get into an epic battle to get the ‘Chicken Dinner’.

The game has a bunch of different weapons, looks great, and even works on phones with not-so-powerful specs. One of the best things about this game is that it’s constantly updated with new skins, items, etc., so there’s always something to look forward to. Give it a try if you haven’t already, but keep your play time in check.

Intel Hits Back at AMD, Releases its Own Benchmarks to Disprove AMD’s Epyc Claims

The reason behind Intel taking such a step would surely be the importance of data-centric businesses for the company. Data-centric sales are currently worth almost half of Intel’s total revenue. So it’s quite understandable for Intel to do whatever it can to ensure that AMD takes as little as possible of Intel’s market share. The fact that AMD’s upcoming EPYC Rome processors are far superior in terms of core count and manufacturing process to Intel’s Xeon lineup. While Intel’s flagship, the Xeon 8280, features just 28 cores and 56 threads, AMD’s EPYC Rome CPUs will feature up to 64 cores and 128 threads. Apart from this, a more modern manufacturing process will also ensure better pricing and less power consumption. All this makes these benchmarks quite crucial for Intel, as it desperately needs something to show against AMD, as most of the other specs seem to be favoring the team Red, at least on paper.
AMD’s CEO Lisa Su, during her keynote at Computex 2019, claimed that her company’s upcoming EPYC Rome data center CPUs, based on the 7nm process node, will be twice as fast as Intel’s Cascade Lake Xeon processors using a well-known benchmark. Intel responded by saying that the Intel test systems were not configured properly and that the processors selected for the benchmark were not the most applicable. Intel has now released its own set of benchmarks to disprove the claims made by AMD.

“BASED ON AMD INTERNAL TESTING OF THE NAMD APO1 V2.12 BENCHMARK. AMD TESTS CONDUCTED ON AMD REFERENCE PLATFORM CONFIGURED WITH 2 X PRE-PRODUCTION 2ND GENERATION EPYC 7NM (“ROME”) 64 CORE SOC, 16 X 32GB DDR4 2933MHZ DIMMS, AND UBUNTU 19.04, 5.0 KERNEL AND USING THE AOCC 2.0 BETA COMPILER WITH OPENMPI 4.0, FFTW 3.3.8 AND CHARMS 6.7.1, ACHIEVED AN AVERAGE OF 19.60 NS/DAY; VERSUS A DELL 740 SERVER CONFIGURED WITH 2 X INTEL XEON PLATINUM 8280 28 CORE CPUS, 12 X 32GB DDR4 2933MHZ DIMMS AND UBUNTU 19.04, KERNEL 5.0 USING THE ICC 19.0.3 COMPILER WITH FFTW 3.3.8 AND CHARMS 6.7.1, ACHIEVED AN AVERAGE OF 9.68 NS/DAY. PERFORMANCE MAY VARY WITH PRODUCTION SILICON.”
